[Post] 2023 can be your year. Just seize the possibilities
Every year around this time we put our heads together and ask ourselves what we learned over the past 12 months, and how we think it will affect our year ahead.
We started this tradition at the end of 2020 when we looked back at ourselves hunkering down and decided to do the opposite. “Ask for Everything” was our 2021 motto, and it worked. We asked for everything for our partners, our clients, our families, friends and even ourselves. We went for it, and damned if it didn’t work.
At the end of that demanding but satisfying year, we paused, looked back, and realized we hadn’t taken the time to rejoice in our achievements and that was universal for our clients and communities. People were not taking a moment to celebrate the little things, and that is what the big things are made of!
So, our 2022 motto was born: “Celebrate Everything.” And we did. Everything was easier and more joyful. When in doubt, we celebrated. It gave us the energy and lightheartedness to get out and celebrate more.
Which brings us to our 2023 motto: “Seize the Possibilities.” We had many great mottos with the word everything. “Everything is Possible” was one of them. But everything isn’t possible for anyone, so we scrapped that. Looking back at 2022 we realized that what characterized our success last year was our willingness to think big and go for it. To see a crack in the door and pry it open with all the tools of our ancestors supported by the technologies of today. And to build those possibilities into a foundation for our next leap.
None of this would happen if we weren’t looking for possibilities, recognizing possibilities and seizing on possibilities when we saw them. Josephine Moss (Jeanine’s daughter) has a saying: “I never regret the things I do, only the things I didn’t do.” That’s another way to encapsulate our thoughts for the year ahead.
2023 can be your year. Just seize the possibilities.
